Navigating Conflicts with Vendors

“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.” – Paulo Coelho

Having worked with vendors for almost 20 years now, one thing that I can vouch for is clear communication. Here are the top 3 things that helps

1. Set a regular calendar schedule
2. Set the agenda ahead of time
3. Drive clear outcomes & follow-up to closure

Few skills that help in fostering a good working rhythm for stakeholders are Empathy, Deep Listening skills, setting clear priorities and driving outcomes to closure. Be accessible to your vendors and respond with empathy, understand the issues and discuss with a solution mindset.

Keep a risk log where both parties can collaboratively log the risks, update them and close them. This provides a platform of trust and issues can be solved mutually without prolonging
